Founded in 1909 as Anglo-Persian Oil Company, British Petroleum is a multinational oil and gas company. It operates in 80 countries worldwide and is known for oil and gas exploration, production, refining, generation of power, trading, and for its renewable energy sources as well. In this post, we will talk mostly about BP credit cards.

What is a BP Credit Card used for?

BP credit cards are not credit cards you use in banks or other places. These cards can only be used at BP stations. BP introduced these cards to help its customers save money and to benefit from some services offered at BP stations. These cards have a 12-month expiry date and have to recharge during that time.

Suppose you go to work daily and travel around to fulfill some errands, but the increasing gas prices are making a dent in your wallet. This is where the BP credit card can help you. This card helps you save money per gallon and gives you pump rewards as well. At the time this article is being written, you can save up to 5¢ per gallon on applied terms and conditions.

Advantages of using a BP Credit Cards

BP credit cards help you save money in some ways. You can not only use your card for gas, but you can also save money in restaurants as well. You get double cash back within 60 days, and there are no annual fees (terms and conditions apply). This card is solely dedicated to those customers who want to earn rewards from their BP and Amoco gasoline purchases. If you frequent a BP station, and you need constant refueling and other services for your vehicle, getting a BP credit card will be extremely beneficial to you.

Disadvantages of BP Credit Cards

BP credit cards are tempting, but they also come with minor disadvantages. These cards can only be used at BP gas stations. If you are stuck in the middle of somewhere, and there are no BP gas stations around, your BP credit card will not be of any assistance. Another one of the BP credit cards disadvantages is that that this card does not give rewards at superstores and fast food restaurants.

While your regular credit card may help you do everything you can do with a BP credit card, it may not provide you with the same perks and incentives. If you travel a lot and are not very particular about where you get your gas from, then BP credit cards are not the best option for you. However, if there is a BP gas station on your daily route, and you go there regularly, you should go for a BP credit card.
