How Long Does It Take To Get A Credit Card?

Applying for a credit card is not easy. If your application has been accepted, it still takes a bit of time. You will find yourself waiting at the porch thinking, “How long does it take to get a credit card?”

Credit Card Process

A credit card has three basic procedure steps:

  • Approval
  • Delivery
  • Activation

Approval

The first step means to wait for the bank approval. If your application has been received, checked, and approved, you will shortly receive your card.

Delivery

Once your application has been approved by the bank, you will receive a package. The package will include your card, guide lines, a paper with the terms and conditions, and a thank you letter from the bank (packages vary). This process takes about 6-10 business days depending on the bank, and the location of your residence.

Activation

When you receive your package, be sure to go through all terms and conditions once again, do not rush to activate your card the second it has been received, you should also consider going through all the information within the package. Once satisfied, you may continue to activate the card. Along with the card, an instruction sheet will be sent to you. Follow the steps, and then you can finally activate it.

Most Scenarios

In most cases, it does not take long to get your card. It takes up to 6-10 business days at the most.

How can I receive my Credit Card Earlier?

If you are in a hurry, then you will have to speed things up. Send the application right away with all authentic information without wasting any time. Once the information undergoes through the procedure without any complications, the bank will be able to send you the card within five days at times. Each card has its own delivery time. Some banks speed up this process if you simply request them.

How long is the Company’s Procedure?

This depends solely on the company. You may refer to the internet; visit the company’s official website for further detailed queries or the banks. Banks usually have information about the credit cards they offer along with their descriptions including their delivery status.

What can be the Worst Scenario?

Well, the worst case may be your card being delayed for over a week, if not then ten days. Ten days is the maximum amount of days your card should take. This usually does not happen, but sometimes your package may be lost while being couriered. Thousands of mails are sent throughout the world, though this may happen, there is a very unlikely chance that it will occur.
